"Hide & Seek" is the first third of the second episode of the first season of Max & Ruby.

Ruby teaches Max how to play Hide-and-Seek, but he seems to not understand the rules and doesn't want to let Ruby take her turn at hiding.
Synopsis[]
The episode starts with Ruby opening and covering her eyes with her hands in front of Max. Ruby then explains the rules of hide and seek to her brother Max. Max nods his head up and down to show Ruby that he understands the rules. Max then says that he wants to be the hider and Ruby starts the game as the seeker. Ruby covers her eyes with her hands and Max runs off to hide in a large vase with a plant.
After counting to 10 Ruby uncovers her eyes and prepares to find her little brother Max. The first place Ruby goes to find Max is up the stairs. While Ruby climbs up the stairs, Max takes a peak out of his vase to see where Ruby is going. After Ruby checks the rooms up stairs, she then goes down stairs to find where Max is. Ruby then goes to the living room and attempts to point out where Max is hiding.
At the same time Max is seen peaking through his vase to see where Ruby is calling his location. Ruby ultimately finds Max's hiding position in the vase and wins the game of hide and seek. Ruby then starts a game of round 2 of hide and seek where she will be the hider while Max will be the seeker. Ruby then demonstrates what Max's role as a seeker will be, so Ruby covers her eyes and attempts to count to 10. Ruby is then cut short when Max leaves the living room to hide.
This action frustrates Ruby as she wanted to be the hider. With Max gone Ruby then runs out of the living room to seek him out. The first place Ruby goes to find Max is upstairs. While Ruby goes upstairs the scene cuts to Max hiding in the kitchen cabinet. Once Ruby finds out Max isn't upstairs, she then goes down the stairs and into the kitchen.
In the kitchen Ruby proclaims that Max is hiding outside so she opens the door and goes outside to talk to her dolls. As Ruby is trying to find Max outside the house meanwhile Max is peaking through the kitchen cabinet to play with his robot toy. Once ruby goes inside the house she finds Max's robot toy making noise near her. The robot toy is able to lead Ruby on where Max is hiding by having the robot toy bump into Max's location. Once Max is found he then tells Ruby that he wants to hide again.
With the Robot toy making so much noise, Ruby is eventually irritated by it and asks Max on how to turn it off. Ruby eventually finds the off switch for the toy, but Max is no where to be seen. Ruby then continues the hide and seek game to find out where Max is hiding. Ruby first goes into Max's room of toys and calls his name. Ruby then goes to her room to see if Max is hiding there.
When Ruby goes into the washroom to find Max, she finds his overalls and clothes on the floor and it gives her a hint on where he is hiding. Ruby then removes the shower curtains and finds Max hiding in the bathtub. Max then crawls out of the bathtub to hide again. This time Ruby stops him and wants to be the hider herself. Ruby then quits the hide and seek game due to how she is unable to be the hider.
This makes Max briefly sad until he comes up with an idea. Max then puts on his clothes and leaves the bathroom to find Ruby. Max first searches Ruby's room and then the kitchen. In the kitchen Max gets an idea and goes outside to see Ruby playing with her dolls. Ruby is shown feeding hew dolls with cookies.
When Max goes to Ruby she asks him on what he wants. Max then answers Ruby by saying that he has found her and he has won the hide and seek game. The episode then ultimately closes down to Max's face as it ends.
