Synopsis[]
The episode begins with Ruby putting food back in the fridge. Max is about to eat the last piece of sandwich, but it falls off his hand. Max is still hungry. Ruby says to him that because his sandwich is all over him, not in him. She then helps Max off the table. She laughs that he looks disgusting. He has jam over his face, lettuce over his ears, and bread in his pocket. She then brings Max upstairs to the bathroom. She turns on the water and helps Max get undressed. She puts dirty clothes in the hamper. She feels the temperature of the bath and it feels good. While Ruby continues making it, Max walks back down to the kitchen.
He goes to the fridge to get his orange sherbet. Ruby hurries to him and cannot believe Max is all sticky. They go upstairs and Ruby puts the sherbet on the stool. Ruby feels the water and it is still nice and warm. She puts Max in the bath and decides to give him a bubble bath. She goes to the cupboard and sees all the shampoos, including her favorite: peach blossom. In the bath, Max wants to have a yogurt of sherbet. He picks it up and eats it. Then it turns over, causing the water to turn orange.
After making more sherbet and grace juice tubs, Ruby decides that Max must not have any more baths. So Max takes a shower instead. Now Max is clean after a shower, but in the end, Ruby's dress gets covered with sherbet and grape juice stains.

Trivia[]
- On OVGuide.com, an image from this episode is used as an image from "Max's Bed Time".
- This episode is similar to Tyler and the Legend of Twigfoot.
- This episode is also based on a comic from 1985 of the same name.
- This is the first episode where Max is seen naked.
- In the 25th episode of Max & Ruby, Max's Birthday, Max receives a wind-up lobster toy. This toy is shown in this episode, though it aired ten episodes before Max's Birthday.
- This may have took place after Max's Birthday.
- This is the first episode where Max causes mischief (In this case he spills two sherbets (Orange and Lime) and his grape juice into the bathtub).
- There are scenes where the water changes color when Max spills the drinks.
- Orange: When Max spills his orange sherbet.
- Green: When the lime sherbet spilled into the bathtub.
- Violet/Purple: When Max moves his grape juice from one side to the other, making it spill last.
- All of the colors listed here are secondary colors minus brown (that being, orange, green, and violet).
- That is, since the primary colors (but the subtractive ones) are red, yellow, and blue. For the secondary colors, red and yellow make orange, blue and yellow make green, red and blue make violet, and all three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) make brown.
- Every time the sherbet fills the water, it sounds like one of The Ululu Company (originally The Curiosity Company) logos.
- The sound changes 3 times every time the water changes.
