Ruby: (The title card appears.) Max's Cuckoo Clock.
(This episode starts in The Huffington's house, Max sees a Cuckoo Clock)
Max: Cuckoo. (Max grabs a footstool and pushes it to the shelf, he climbs and drags the clock hand pointing to the top and a cuckoo bird comes out)
Max: Cuckoo.
(Ruby comes in)
Ruby: That's Baby Huffington's favorite toy cuckoo clock, Max. Every time the two hands come up to the top of the clock, it goes "cuckoo".
Max: Cuckoo. (Max plays with the clock hands again)
Ruby: Uh-uh. (She puts Max off the footstool) I know you like the cuckoo clock, Max, but we're not here to play. We're here to help Mrs. Huffington.
(Mrs. Huffington comes in)
Mrs. Huffington: Okay Ruby, it's time for my garden tea party guests to arrive, and it's also time for Baby Huffingtion's nap.
Ruby: And it's my job to put him to sleep.
Mrs. Huffington: That would be a great help. (Mrs. Huffington walks away, Ruby follows him.)
Max: (Max makes a sneaky face) Cuckoo! (Max runs to the footstool and climbs)
Mrs. Huffington: (Mrs. Huffington and Ruby are in the kitchen) Now you're sure you'll be able to manage, Ruby?
Ruby: You can count on me, Mrs. Huffington. (Ruby thinks and looks around) Where's Baby Huffington?
Mrs. Huffington: He's in his room, but I don't think he's asleep yet.
Ruby: Well, he will be when I'm finished with him.
Mrs. Huffington: Thanks, Ruby. I'll be right out back if you need me. Ta-ta. (Mrs. Huffington walks away with the tea set)
Ruby: Well, Max, we'd better go do our job. (Ruby gets confused and looks around) Max?
Max: (offscreen) Cuckoo.
Ruby: Max! (Ruby runs out of the kitchen) You can't play with the cuckoo clock. (Ruby puts Max off the footstool) We have to put Baby Huffington to sleep. The Cuckoo Clock will just wake him up. Come on, you can help me. (Ruby walks out. Max looks at the cuckoo clock and climbs on the footstool.)
Ruby: (Ruby enters Baby Huffington's room) Hello, Baby Huffington. Do you know what time it is? It's naptime. That's right. And we're here to make sure you go to sleep. Right, Max? (Ruby gets confused) Max? (A cuckoo clock was heard)
Max: (offscreen) Cuckoo.
Ruby: (Ruby stands by the stairs) Max? No cuckoo clock. Come up here where I can keep an eye on you. (Ruby goes back to Baby Huffington's room) I know just what to do to put a baby to sleep. I'll read a naptime story. First you have to lie down. (Baby Huffington lies down) Good. Then I'll tuck you in nice and snug. (Ruby tucks Baby Huffington in with the blanket) There. (Baby Huffington yawns) Let's see... (Ruby spots some books) Aha. In all these books, there has to be a good naptime story. (She picks a book that has a cover with a moon, 4 stars, and a bunny with blue clothing sleeping on a cloud) Perfect! Naptime For Bunny. (Ruby sits on a rocking chair and starts to read the book) "It was Baby Bunny's naptime, and Baby Bunny was very, very sleepy," (To Baby Huffington) Just like you. "In fact, Baby Bunny was so sleepy, he just couldn't keep his eyes open." (To Baby Huffington who was standing up) What are you doing up? (Baby Huffington points to the cuckoo clock that Max is holding)
Max: Cuckoo.
Ruby: Max, you can't play with the cuckoo clock, especially in here. It's Baby Huffington's naptime, and the cuckoo clock will make too much noise. (Ruby takes the cuckoo clock out of Max's hands) We have to be very, very quiet. (Ruby puts the cuckoo clock on top of the drawer) Let's just put this up here where little brother bunnies can't reach it, and go back to our naptime story. Come over here, Max, and help me put Baby Huffington to sleep. (Ruby takes Max's hand) You sit here and listen quietly, okay? (To Baby Huffington) Now you lie down again. (Baby Huffington lies down) And I'll tuck you in nice and snug. (Ruby tucks Baby Huffington in with the blanket) Then I'll read you more of the story. (Baby Huffington yawns) Now, where was I? Oh, yes. (Ruby starts to read) "Baby Bunny was so sleepy, he just couldn't keep his eyes open." "So he lay down in his bed and snuggled up under his blanket, and he yawned a great big yawn." (Max crawls and sneaks to the cuckoo clock and Baby Huffington sees him) <yawns> "That felt so good, he thought." (But Suddenly...)
Max: Cuckoo. (Makes takes the cuckoo clock off the drawer)
Ruby: Max, what are you doing? (Ruby takes the cuckoo clock from Max) There's only one way to make sure you don't play with this cuckoo clock. (Ruby takes Max's hand.) I'm going to put the cuckoo clock on one side of me, and you on the other. That way, I'll be able to keep my eye on you and the clock at the same time. There. (To Baby Huffington) Now, Baby Huffington, (Ruby heads to Baby Huffington's crib) it's way past your naptime. What am I going to do with you? I know. I'll sing you a lullaby. Now, you lie down again. (Baby Huffington lies down) There. (Ruby tucks Baby Huffington in with the blanket) Lullabies are made for putting babies to sleep. (Ruby starts to sing) 🎶 Go to sleep. 🎶 🎶 Go to sleep. 🎶 🎶 Go to sleep, little bunny. 🎶 🎶 Go to sleep. 🎶 🎶 Go to sleep. 🎶 🎶 Now that sleepy time is here. 🎶 (Baby Huffington starts crying) Oh, dear. What am I going to do? (But then Ruby sees Max touching the cuckoo clock)
Max: Cuckoo. (Max drags one of the clock hands to the top of the cuckoo clock, and then a bird appears)
Ruby: Max, with all this cuckooing, I'll never get Baby Huffington to sleep. (But then, Ruby sees Baby Huffington sleeping) Oh. Look. He's sleeping like a baby. (Mrs. Huffington enters the room)
Mrs. Huffington: I just thought I'd check and see how-- Oh, I see you've discovered the secret to putting Baby Huffing to sleep. (Ruby is confused)
Max: Cuckoo. (This episode ends)
